La Quinta, California

La Quinta is a great city in California and I know a few wonderful people who occupy it. I have been able to re-connect with my Uncle Bud after 26 years. He is 90 years old and doing great. His smile and blue eyes reminded me of my dear Mommy - who I miss so much. His son Scotty, wife Desi and daughter Allison opened their home to us and made us feel welcome. Thank you Scotty for sharing your home, letting Zuzu swim in your pool and letting Miya lay in your shade! Oh and letting us hook up our RV to your power - dinner out was yummy! I am so happy to have had the feeling of family around me. I love you Uncle Bud and Scotty very much. I look forward to our time together again!

Phoenix

Our time in Phoenix has come to an end. We'll be leaving in the morning. We had a really nice Easter with Dale and Norine. They also took us to lunch with Norine's sister Jane. Jane is precious. We spent the evening with them last night, and had a yummy spaghetti dinner, today they took us to an outdoor luncheon. The lunch was very good but cold! Brrrrr.... it was windy and chilly in Phoenix today.

Quite disappointed that I didn't see any of my family - Troy, Holli and family and my niece Jennifer and her family. Okay you have to come see me now!

Now - California or bust!

Bedrock - Twist, Twist!

Well, you have to be a Flintstones fan to appreciate the title of my post! We landed in Prescott and found a great RV park. Larry said it looked like the earth threw up! However, to me it was Bedrock. It stayed pretty rainy but never the less we took a great hike, walked around downtown Prescott and enjoyed our time there.

Lookout Phoenix we're headed your direction - all 7 of us!

The Wild, Wild West!

From Moab, Monument Valley to the Grand Canyon it's wonderful. Red rocks, rolling hills and a vast canyon. Aside from going in a panic when the dogs would walk to close to the edge of the cliffs - it was really breathtaking. Even our little old boy The Duke saw the Grand Canyon today.

Tonight we're at a KOA on Route 66. Onward to Prescott, AZ!

Bye Lacy's - Bye Moab!

Tom, Kathy, Alex and Joey - Thank you for welcoming us into your home. You showed us love and friendship. We will never forget it. You have the best boys on the planet. You gave us time to relax, fed us healthy food, gave Larry a good days work, let us share prayer time, gave us spiritual encouragement, let us love your Nonie and Charlotte, never complained about our critters, gave us great hiking tours... goodness - how kind you are!

We will miss you and we love you. We are so grateful to know you better. All our love, The Rose's

Moab

Starting our trip in Moab has been great. We are staying with a wonderful family - The Lacy's. Tom, Kathy, Alex and Joey. They have opened their home to us and have shown us a really wonderful time.

The first day we arrived it was rainy - but it has cleared up and been nice. Saturday in between rain storms we took a hike behind the Lacy's home. They really have amazing views. Sunday we went to church in the morning and later we hiked up to Delicate Arch. That was a good hour hike and well worth it.

Preparation of the Beemer

After all the effort it took to get the car on the trailer - it came loose in all but a few short miles. So the car and the trailer are safely parked in my sisters driveway. Thank you Carole and John for helping us out!

Thank you also to Rueben (pictured) who was so kind to help us get loaded.

Onward to Moab!
