To Eva Mae

To My Granddaughter

My granddaughter is Eva Mae
And I call her "angel wings"
She's the apple of my eye
And the reason that I sing.

Her enthusiasm is a treasure
That surrounds me night and day
Her laughter is the sun
That daily lights the way.

Her love when she sees me
Turns my world around
Her voice like an orchestra
Serenades me with beautiful sound.

She touches me like an angel
Her love a gift to my soul
And as long as God gives me life
Her presence within me is gold.

It's Been a While...

My brother Clint e-mailed me these photos. They brought back only the best memories. Life goes by to fast. Makes me miss my Mommy. Seeing your family once a year - if your lucky really stinks. Wouldn't it be nice to see each other twice a year, three?

Brothers and Sisters
From where love came, we cannot see:
Perhaps, within us, born and bred,
Or taught to us at parent's knee,
Or instilled by God in heart and head.

Perhaps it sprang from some kind deed,
Which, long forgotten, yet has grown
To dazzling heights from one small seed
In the fertile soil of distress sown.

Respect rises up so far above
The pettiness of separate view;
Differences bow before a love
And friendship that is blood-bound,too.

May the bond between us stronger grow,
May I prove the fondness I confess,
Which my hand's service cannot show'
Nor my simple words ever express.

The Ponies!

Horses are one of my true loves. A friend of mine, Sherry took me to a ranch here in Silt. We spent time in a field of horses - for me a field of dreams. She also spent time teaching me how to groom. That was incredible.

I loved every minute of it.

RV'ing to Delta

Delta! Well we made our first RV trip and it was great. Our friend Philip who has an amazing ranch in Delta - invited us to park our RV on his property and slow down a while. So we did.

This trip was also a test drive so to speak... between the 2 cats and 3 dogs it was entertaining to say the least. We really were not sure how it would all play out. But they all did great. A (forced)bonding experience.

While we were there we checked out, Cedaredge, Hotchkiss, Crawford, Redlands Mesa and Austin. Our favorites were Cedaredge and Hotchkiss. The property over there is half of what it is here in Silt. We liked it a lot and are considering our options for moving that way.

Enjoy the photos!

Sunday Blues

Well, in our ability to go forward on our journey - we are not. At least not yet. Which is really okay, however the cost of the land yacht in my front view is tiresome. A giant cost that is really useless in its current state.

We always have other things to accomplish before we can set out. This week we will be going to Delta, CO. We have thought of moving there - eventually. We currently have our house on the market. Not quite committed to really leaving the place. You can't have everything - they say. It's true. Larry's goal is to retire - that is hard to do with a house payment.

Our friend in Delta - Phil is a great guy. One of the kindest people I have ever met. His house is a movie set - an old Western. When we return I'll include a few photos. He raises limousine beef. It is quite tasty. He has a couple milk cows, chickens and a great garden. His guest house is a little casita that he does rent out and makes for a fun get away.

Thank you for reading...
