Grateful everyday for my health and my life. Enjoying each day with my husband and living for everyday when I can see my Son, Daughter, Son in Law and Grandbaby, Eva Mae the sweetest gift in my life. I have great sisters and brothers - thank you God for giving them to me! The lucky seven!
I have lived in California, Idaho, Oregon, Florida and Colorado. I must say I miss the ocean.
I am grateful too and most importantly that I have the Lord Jesus Christ in my life. He gives me hope, peace, joy, shelter and love.
We spent the day in Ridgway and Ouray. Ridgway is between Montrose and Ouray. The town boasts the fact that True Grit was filmed there. The park in the center of town is where they filmed the hanging scene. John Wayne loved the area with good reason - The San Juan Mountains are amazing. If you remember Dennis Weaver - he also made his home there. He passed away about 4 years ago. A couple of his grandsons worked at the True Grit Cafe.
In Ouray we went to a box canyon that had an amazing waterfall - that was pretty strong for the end of summer. It was a little creepy to me - climbing down into the canyon. Surrounded by to many rocks. I am glad I did get to see it and glad I got out!
Hotchkiss is the best little farming community ever! Well, I love it. We took our RV over for a few days. Stayed one night with our friend Philip and one night with our friends Dion and Dixie. It is a quiet place that feels peaceful when I'm there.
Home town USA! It really is wonderful to be part of all that is small town in America! Especially the summer. We spent the day in Palisade where they grow the best peaches on the planet. At the festival they had a parade, gave away peaches, have a peach recipe contest and make pancakes on a turning grill. It really was fun.
More of beautiful Colorado... we spent last weekend at Vega Lake. We camped with friends from church. Larry spent Saturday with the troops ATV'ing. I minded the ranch with my critters. All around the lake was high grass fields. The girls loved it. They chased each other round and round.
Our friends The Parr's have an adorable Jack Russel. Her name is Snickers - you can see her riding on their ATV up front. She loves it and she stays put.
Enjoying every bit of this warm summer as I can. It was cool up there! Winter is round the bend.
It is so pretty here. I really love it - I moved back here 5 years ago now. That is hard for me to believe. We try and do some hiking and 4 wheeling. Next weekend we hope to go camping. Of course my camera isn't working right now. Ugh...
I do have some photos of our hike. Even though I don't have photos of our 4 wheeling adventure - I have to say it was great. Wild flowers everywhere, ever color. I thought of my Mom who loved the mountains. Also, my brother Clint! Clint I thought of you and Mom so much.
A person could travel around the world and certainly couldn't find a place on the planet as pretty as Colorado.
